These are 3 6×6 inch paintings I did in the Liz Wiltzen workshop at the end of May.
They are painted in oil on birch panel. The workshop and Liz is an excellent instructor and what she taught really resonated with me.
We started with a value study. We had to mix a value 5 grey with no reference. Pretty challenging.
Then we had to match in color and value a piece of fabric. We brought fabric to the workshop so everyone’s was a different color.
Keeping it simple was the best route to take. The Federation of Canadian Artists offered this workshop in North Vancouver and I found another artist with the same birthday that weekend. We were both giving ourselves the birthday present of the workshop.
