I was searching for a vehicle within which to expand as an artist. I had benefited from workshop formats however I was eager for a consistent rhythm of progress. I also knew that I required a more disciplined approach, greater technical understanding, and support to expand my artistic voice and skills. What I have experienced through the mentorship has been transformational.

I have experienced profound growth on a personal and artistic level. The mentorship has provided me with a safe place to push my understanding and challenge myself. I have been supported to explore, stretch, learn and grow. While providing advice, helpful critique, and technical advice, Marney-Rose has shared her own work progress, process, experimentation, challenges and problem solving. This has been an invaluable learning. In addition, her energy, dedication, passion, creativity, and personal search for growth has been infectious, fuelling my desire and confidence. Through this mentorship I have experienced accelerated learning and growth. I am eager to continue with this compassionate supportive mentor.

When I first started my mentorship with Marney-Rose Edge I wasn’t sure what to expect.

I knew that I loved her work; how she played with light and shadow, with big rich colours and subtle movement. I wanted to find my own style but seemed to be all over the place. I knew what I liked but wasn’t sure how to get there.

With her kind and knowledgeable encouragement she has allowed me to explore, slowly building a style that I can now recognize as my own. She gently leads me to challenge myself to discover my capabilities always encouraging and always leading me to take the next step forward. Her excitement in the accomplishments of myself and others gives the impetus to try and accomplish even more. Her gentle instruction draws the best from all the students she encounters. I always leave her presence excited about what I have learned and eager to explore where it will take me.
